Snoop Lion Calls Miley Cyrus a G.O.A.T.
Snoop Dogg grew up in the LBC living the gangsta life. Miley Cyrus grew up on the Disney Channel living the Hannah Montana life. But now that Snoop has been reincarnated as reggae artist Snoop Lion, he’s opening up to a new musical horizon, one where Miley is "one of the greatest musicians and personalities of all time."
Rewind that. On "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks," the latest single from Snoop’s album Reincarnated, Cyrus turns in a powerful vocal performance. Snoop calls their duet “bold and courageous.”
“We're both going through transformation," he said. "We both love making music and doing what we do and speaking from our hearts, and it's just a great collaboration.”
Lately, Cyrus has been catching heat in the press as she publicly transitions from child star to young adult (who occasionally likes to twerk in a unicorn costume). Snoop's empathy and encouragement stems from his own storied career rife with public scrutiny.
"She was one of the greatest musicians and personalities of all time," he explained of their collaboration. "People just expect so much from her because they've been watching her whole life from a kid. She's just ready to be an adult and have fun and express herself, and I support her."
Snoop will be performing at the Staples Center on Saturday, June 29 along with Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolBoy Q and Miguel.
