John Legend Denies Leaving G.O.O.D. Music
Kid Cudi may have left G.O.O.D. Music but that doesn't mean John Legend is going anywhere. Legend, a native of Ohio like his former label mate, announced that he is definitely still rocking with Yeezy.
"Yeah, still signed to G.O.O.D. Music," Legend said during a visit to Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club. "Me and Kanye worked on this whole album."
Even with his own label — HomeSchool Records — the nine-time Grammy winner still looks toward 'Ye for advice. In fact, West had lots of input on his forthcoming Love in the Future release. "We just wanted to really get this album right so we spent a lot of time on it," he explained. "He doesn't really make beats anymore but he suggests beats to write to. He just has all these young producers coming through, he just curates it and helps put the album together."
Legend's lead single, "Who Do We Think We Are," features Rick Ross. Despite the rape controversy following the MMG rapper, the 34-year-old refused to remove him from the record. "I wouldn't do that. I respect Rick, I think he made a mistake, but I'm not gonna' take him off the record. I'm not gonna stop working with him just because he made a mistake. When you make a mistake you apologize and move on."
Maybe Legend should share some of that advice with Rozay, because he wasn't too happy about the backlash.
