Jay-Z Wants to Sign Brazilian Soccer Player to Roc Nation

Hov wants dibs on the "world's most marketable athlete."

Roc Nation Sports is ready to take on the world of professional soccer. Although the sport isn't as popular stateside as it is in other countries, Jay-Z's newly formed sports agency has its eye on 21-year-old Santos player Neymar, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

Acquiring the Brazilian athlete will be another power move for the Roc's latest division and its mission to "transform players into real stars with global impact and visibility," Sport reports.

It also doesn't hurt that Neymar's global star is on the rise — in 2010 he was named SportsPro magazine's "most marketable player." But there is one potentially huge barrier blocking the deal between him and "el rapero" (the rapper): Neymar is contracted with another soccer phenom, Ronaldo, who has a sports marketing firm of his own, 9ine, which owns the rights to Neymar's image.

Hov has never been one to be fazed by the block, though. Since selling off his Brooklyn Nets shares to become an agent, Jigga Man hasn't wasted time getting the ball rolling on the newest aspect of his career. In the last month, Roc Nation Sports has signed Yankees' Robinson Cano, WNBA star Skylar Diggins and is rumored to be snagging NHL prospect Seth Jones.

In addition to Neymar, the agency reportedly has its sights set on fellow Brazilian soccer stars Lucas Moura of Paris-Saint German and Internacional forward Leandro Damião.
