John Boy Announces Split From Soulja Boy's Record Label

John Boy blames Soulja Boy for career troubles.

Another rap breakup is on the books. John Boy is no longer down with Soulja Boy's SODMG label.

Containing his thoughts to a nearly 12-minute video (so as to not hold up "too much" of the public's time) Johnny Boy unleashed his emotions in a new video. "I'm done with SODMG, I'm no longer a member," he said. "I'm taking my talents to South Beach."

The decision to walk from Soulja Boy's imprint was based on the Atlanta's rapper's bad business moves and lack of loyalty, especially when he "gets a new best friend every week."

Less than a minute into the recording, John Boy flips the moment into a full-blown confessional. Soulja Boy gets called out for not knowing how to promote artists, losing the likes of Lil B, Riff Raff and Arab from the roster and being too scared to confront Chief Keef's GBE affiliate Ballout for jacking his chain. The aforementioned incident was the last straw for JB. "Me and Soulja don't talk. He'll text me or DM me, 'Swag,' "Turn up bro,' 'What's good,' 'What you on.' And that's it. And I'll text him back. And a week later, 'Turn up, bro.' That's not loyalty, man."

Combine those actions with John Boy never dropping an official single under SODMG, and his reasoning for breaking free is pretty clear. But the young rapper isn't blind to the haters, further explaining that leaving SODMG doesn't make him disloyal. "At the end of the day ya'll don't know the half of the s---. I ain't speak to Soulja in like two months. Period."

Apparently, splitting with Soulja Boy hasn't trickled over into John Boy's social media presence just yet. His website, YouTube page and Instagram handle all pay homage to his SODMG roots.
