Canadian songstress will take the stage before Bey.
Melanie Fiona has landed a huge spot at this year's BET Experience, opening for none other than Beyoncé, later this month. The Canadian songstress will take the stage ahead of Bey at Los Angeles' STAPLES Center Friday, June 28.
As a client of Jay-Z's Roc Nation, Fiona is hardly a stranger to the Carter family, but this will be the first time that she's been tapped to proceed the superstar.
The "Wrong Side of a Love Song" singer may even be in line to open during the domestic leg of the 31-year-old's The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, replacing Luke James, who held down the international dates.
Spanning over the weekend of the BET Awards (June 28-30), the BET Experience will feature A-list talent performing not only on at the STAPLES Center but nearby Club Nokia. The weekend will also include a wide variety of fun and free activities like the Music Matters Showcase featuring up-and-coming artists, 106 & Park tapings and a Taste of Soul Music Festival, as well as BET Revealed, a seminar series with guest speakers like Pharrell Williams, Nick Cannon and Megan Good.
The weekend will wind down with the BET Experience Film Festival led by Kevin Hart's forthcoming film Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain, a celebrity basketball game and of course the big awards show Sunday night (June 30).
