Pregnant? Retiring? Keri Hilson Hits the Rumor Mill Head On

Hilson takes on the gossip.

Keri Hilson fired back at flying rumors on Monday (June 10) by sending out a bunch of somewhat confusing tweets addressing her alleged pregnancy (the 30-year-old beauty is dating Oklahoma Thunder baller Serge Ibaka) and whether or not she is, in fact, stepping away from music.

For starters, says Hilson, there's no bun in the oven. "I get how you could THINK you found clues to that conclusion you conjured…but i'm NOT pregnant," she tweeted. "Those 'clues' are unrelated & exaggerated."
Then she turned to focus to the music industry. "Although you may not understand my leave of absence (yes it was my decision), I've cherished your love & support!!"

But her wording left fans scratching their heads. The "Knock You Down" singer then went back to Twitter to explain that she had already taken and wrapped up an extended hiatus. "I'm not TAKING a leave of absence, I TOOK a leave of absence," she wrote. "Decided to finally let my fans know that I did indeed step away for a while."
Hilson's 2010 album, No Boys Allowed, sold 108,000 copies in its first week but missed out on a Top 5 Billboard debut like 2008's In a Perfect World. Additionally, No Boys Allowed spawned fewer hit singles than its predecessor.

But it's not just the charts that haven't shown the Atlanta native love. She's taken a beating from the BeyHive over beef with Beyoncé. After years of cyber torment, Hilson reached a breaking point back in March of this year. "It'’s TOO much!!," she tweeted, "Please! Is everything I tweet gonna be 'intentionally misinterpreted' as a statement about someone/drama I know nothing about?

"You have no idea what your hateful words could do to someone’s spirit, " Hilson continued. "Years of verbal abuse from strangers all day long. Enough is enough! I’m here for MY FANS! I’m stronger than you imagine, but waking up/going to bed to your ugliness is just TOO MUCH, kids. I get it, OK? You can stop now. As far as WHATEVER your really mad about, I had my reasons. It’s been years! Just chalk it up to your ignorance of my reality and LET…IT…GO. As for my mistakes, God has dealt with me."
Bey's taken the high road, never indulging in the drama. Her "Bow Down" single, however, has been interpreted by some as a rebuttal. One fan called the track a "voicemail" to Hilson.
