Doug E. Fresh and Jordin Sparks Join Let's Move!
Remember when First Lady Michelle Obama did the Dougie to help put a stop to childhood obesity? Well, she's back with more of her Let's Move! campaign, this time with a full album led by a new single from Doug E. Fresh, Jordin Sparks and even a few bars from Dr. Oz and The Hip Hop Doc.
The single, "Everybody," is accompanied by a video complete with inspirational visuals of exercises ranging in intensity from the running man to pull-ups on a basketball rim.
The album, Songs for a Healthier America, also has singles from Ashanti, DMC (of Run-DMC) and Monifah and was created in partnership with Let's Move!, Hip-Hop Public Health and Partnership for a Healthier America.
"Making healthier decisions doesn’t have to cost a lot, doesn’t require special apparel and doesn’t call for membership cards," said Drew Nannis, Chief Marketing Officer of PHA. "The simple act of getting up and dancing is a great way to get active, and this album – and the dozens of generous musicians who helped make it possible – can help show us how."
Previously, Beyoncé got in on the Let's Move! health movement, remixing her "Get Me Bodied" lyrics and choreography for school-aged fun.
Songs for a Healthier America will be available for download Sept. 30, reports AllHipHop.com.
