Eminem Drops New Song Via Call of Duty Commercial

Rapper previews "Survival" in a video game promo.

After much talk about a new Eminem album releasing in 2013, the Detroit rapper has finally released a song that could be considered a promotional single. Via a trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts, Em previewed "Survival" featuring Skylar Gray, his new "anthem," as he calls it, and unleashed the full version on his website.

Aside from an appearance on Tony Touch's Piece Maker 3: Return of the 50 MCs mixtape earlier this summer, this is the first from him since the release of 2010's Recovery

Em and the folks around him have been vague about when we can expect his as-yet-untitled eighth studio album. Paul Rosenberg, Shady Records' president, told Billboard.com in February, "It's safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point." In March, Dr. Dre told Power 106's Big Boy's Neighborhood that Em's "finishing up his project."

Meanwhile, "Survival" will also appear on the video game's track list. The game drops Nov. 5 and is currently available for pre-order here.
