Minaj addresses the lack of Young Money artists on Drizzy's Nothing Was the Same.
The rift between Drake and Nicki Minaj may be deeper than we think. The YMCMB artists were thick as thieves until their friendship went through a rough patch last year (as Drake described in lyrics from his track "Tuscan Leather"). In a recent interview, the "Started From the Bottom" rapper implied their beef was behind them, but Minaj tells a different story.
In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Nicki was asked if she would be following Drake's lead in not putting any YMCMB artists on her new album. "No, I'm Young Money 'til the death of me," Nicki responded. "Drake can do what Drake do but Nicki Minaj is a whole different person. I think your team is your team. Who gives a f*** about trying to be different? I'm always going to want my team to be a part of my project, no matter what, in some way."
Not a direct diss against Drake, but Minaj's comments could understandably be construed as a side-eye toward her one-time pal.
