If anyone knows how brutally honest Kanye West can be, it's T-Pain.

West tapped the auto-tune specialist to assist on his 2008 LP 808s & Heartbreaks, but the experience wasn't very positive, at least from the recollection T-Pain shared with Vlad TV recently. 

The story started with him explaining why he hasn't bought West's daughter a present. Yeezy doesn't hold back his opinion, and even dissed T-Pain once. "He came up with this song for me, and it wasn't a good song," he recalled. "It was basically describing how wack my ideas was that I was coming up with. And he made everybody in the studio join in with him to sing like, 'T-Pain's s--- is weak.'"

Public shaming aside, the "Up Down" singer didn't think the track itself was all that bad. "It was actually pretty lyrical. I actually thought he should have put that on the record at some point. But it would have been a diss record."

Needless to say, T-Pain has no plans to buy West anything, ever. "He'll tell you [if he doesn't like something], which is why I don't want to give him no present," he said. "Kanye got way more f---in' money than me, he don't need no present from me."

Other tidbits from the interview include T-Pain's take on West's celebration of the Confederate flag.

The topic happens to be one which they agree on, like the "New Slaves" MC, T-Pain has no problem with the flag's connection to racism. He too wore shirts made out of the flag (because they were cheaper than the "ones with Malcolm X on it," he noted) and therefore supports West's right to rock the symbol.

"I don't give a s--- about that s--- because I wasn't really a part of the generation that that flag was really affected by," he said, laughing. "People can say I'm wrong for that s---, but look, I grew up in the '80s man, that s--- had been gone."

Pain is currently working on his fifth studio album, Stoicville: The Phoenix, expected this year. He was brought on board as a consultant for 'Ye's 808s & Heartbreak. "I'm just here to keep it from [sounding] adult contemporary," he told MTV.
