Big Boi: No New Outkast Album

Daddy Fat Sax clears up reunion album rumor.

Bad news for Outkast fans the world over, there is no new album on the horizon.

Big Boi broke the news (and hearts of Stankonia supporters everywhere) during a talk with REVOLT TV last weekend. "We're just doing the tour only," he said. "Just for the fans. That's all it is, a tour."

Although he is working on a solo LP, Big Boi said the Outkast tour is all about the fans. "I got a solo record I'm working on, but this is the Outkast 20-year anniversary — just a way for us to celebrate with our fans, but no album in the works."

The absence of an Outkast reunion album doesn't mean the ATLiens won't be busy, touring and separate projects have Sir Lucious Left Foot and Andre 3000 booked up for at least half of 2014. Three Stacks is gearing up to promote his starring role in the Jimi Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side premiering at the SXSW festival in March, and Big Boi's next studio album is tentatively slated for release by "the end of the year."

The solo album will follow Big Boi's participation in a Game of Thrones mixtape, named after one of his favorite shows. "I think it'll be out in the next couple of weeks," he said. "We got Common, Wale doing something, I'm doing a track on there and a couple surprise guests."

Outkast is on the bill for more than 40 show dates, beginning in April with the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif.
