Chris Brown to Remain in Rehab for Extended Treatment

The singer has elected to stay beyond the court-ordered 90 days.

Chris Brown is taking his recovery very seriously. A source tells E! News that even though the R&B superstar has completed his court-ordered 90 days in rehab, he has decided to stay at the facility for further treatment. "It was his choice," the source says. "He will come out soon."

Brown's rep declined to comment. But the F.A.M.E. singer certainly looked like a changed man at the 2nd Call Awards in Los Angeles on Friday night (Feb. 21), where he received an award for his community service. Brown was "in good spirits as he greeted people" and delivered a short, impassioned speech before calling it a night around 9:30 p.m.
Brown entered rehab to avoid jail time following a series of incidents late last year, including an alleged fight with an onlooker outside of a Washington, D.C., hotel that led to his arrest. While he may be keeping himself out of a cell, his days in court are far from over. The alleged victim in the D.C. attack is suing Brown in civil court.
