50 Cent: Donald Sterling Was Betrayed

Fif breaks down what he took away from the infamous audio.

For 50 Cent, beef mastermind and The 50th Law co-author, the real war crime revealed from the instantly infamous, leaked audio of a conversation between Donald Sterling and long-time confidant V. Stiviano was betrayal.

In an interview with XXL, Fif was prompted to talk about the hot topic. Although someone in the background attempted to decline on his behalf, Fif didn't back down, "I can tell you," he established.

"Donald Sterling, I think, is interesting," he said. "To be honest with you, I couldn't get past the concept of looking at an older man talking to a woman that he's in love with and making probably the biggest compromise ever, saying, 'If you like them, be with them, sleep with them, just don't embarrass me."

Sterling was made a scapegoat, he was subsequently banned and fined some $2.5 million from the NBA for his comments, and is being urged into a forced sale of his stake in the Los Angeles Clippers, for a perspective more widespread than himself, Fif explained.

"He's saying to you that, 'there's other people around that are being embarrassed by it, that think and feel the way that I feel.' And now, you got one person you're pointing to, penalizing that, when he's actually saying at that point, 'just don't embarrass me,' meaning, 'there's other people that feel exactly like me here to be embarrassed by it.'"

The alleged betrayal actually came from a friend who leaked the audio, Stiviano insists. She told USA Today that, despite his denials, Sterling knew that he was being recorded. Recording conversations was something they did often, "for him to learn things about himself," she said.

As for what Fif learned from the exposure of the audio, the newly independent Animal Ambition rapper is simply among many who've voiced their opinions on the situation, including Lil Wayne, Questlove and Snoop Dogg. "I just watched it, and I just saw a man being betrayed," he concluded.
