The “Teach Me How To Dougie” rapper suffered from sickle cell anemia.
JayAre, born Cahron Childs (middle), died from cardiac arrest on Friday. According to MTV News, the rapper, who battled sickle cell anemia, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday for undisclosed reasons. He suffered the fatal heart attack during his stay. He would have turned 26 later this month.
His Cali Swag District friend Smoove Da General took to Twitter to express his grief, "Sickle cell took my brother away from me today...with that being said I'm proud to know that with that disease he made the best of his life," he tweeted. "Rest in peace Jayare I'm gonna miss u forever ..I will never get over this..but I know God got u..and I know You got me."
JayAre is the second member of the once foursome to pass away. In May 2011, Montae “M-Bone” Talbert was killed in a drive-by shooting in the group’s hometown of Inglewood, California. Smoove and Yung are the only surviving members of the group, which achieved fame with "Teach Me How to Dougie" in 2010.
