YG: LAPD Won't Let Me Perform at Lil Wayne vs. Drake Concert

Compton rapper says police blocked Irvine and LA shows.

YG must really live a Krazy Life, in the eyes of the Los Angeles Police Department. The Compton rapper alleges that the LAPD prevented him from performing right in his own backyard. YG was pegged to hit the stage with Lil Wayne and Drake for a few of their tour stops, but just a week after announcing that he was joining the lineup, YG was dropped from two shows.

“Irvine/Hollywood , the LAPD ain't letting me perform at the #DrakeVsWayne dates today and Monday. All that giving bak must don't matter,” Bompton’s best tweeted Thursday (Sept. 19) after OVO newbie ILoveMakonnen replaced him on stage.

It's a twisted, two-sided story. LAPD claims they have no information regarding YG’s canceled appearance at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, Calif., or his Monday show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

According to YG’s camp the police asked the promoters to provide more security, which would lead to a huge financial hike, up to the tune of $120,000. Thus promoters cut their losses, i.e.YG, rather than rack up the extra expense.

Joining the Lil Wayne vs. Drake tour would certainly continue to boost YG’s career. Earlier this month he performed at both Budweiser's Made in America Festivals and other shows in California, which went on without a hitch. Additionally the rapper has been making a name for himself as a philanthropist giving back to children in his community.

The rapper’s camp would like to sit down with the LAPD to create a viable solution to allow him the opportunity to perform alongside YMCMB’s finest in his home state. However, if it’s not resolved by Monday (Sept. 22) then YG will have to wait to join the fellas on Thursday (Sept. 25) in Arizona.
