Rawyals Drops New Single, 'King Me,' Featuring Fetty Wap
Some say that the era of the girl group has ended, but new all-female trio Rawyals have hit the scene to prove otherwise. The R&B/pop group recently teamed up with "Trap Queen" rapper Fetty Wap for their sassy debut single, "King Me."
Rawyals, made up of Ariel Nicholson, Bel Cabrera and Asia Shabazz, is no stranger to the music scene. The ladies, hailing from New York, Washington State and Los Angeles, have been under the mentorship of rapper 50 Cent, who speaks highly of their potential: "There is a clear lane in music being left wide open," he said. "These ladies are prepared to fill it. Call it crazy, sexy, cool or destiny, but they are the new wave."
Each of the ladies was handpicked by music mogul Kedar Massenburg, who is known for introducing some of today's biggest acts like D'Angelo, India.Arie and Erykah Badu.
The group's music video for their single "King Me" is set to be released soon. The full song dropped last night (April 16) on Soundcloud. The new trio also has a gig on May 12, as they have been invited to perform on the BET Music Matters Stage in New York City.
