1990s Rapper MC Supreme Killed in Car Accident

"Black in America" lyricist was 47 years old.

Rapper MC Supreme died in a car accident in Malibu, Calif., over the weekend.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office confirmed with Billboard that the rapper, known for his 1990 single "Black in America," was killed Saturday when a pickup truck crashed into his parked car on the shoulder of the Pacific Coast Highway. MC Supreme was pronounced dead on the scene, and a female passenger in his car was taken to the hospital. Supreme was 47 years old.

Billboard also reported that the driver of the pickup truck was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

"Black in America" was part of the compilation album We're All in the Same Gang.

More recently, Supreme was working with youth and gang prevention.
