Usher on His New Album: It's Coming

Singer said he's more focused on his other efforts, for now.

Over a span of 20 years, Usher has released a total of seven albums. While he's been hard at work on his eighth LP, fans may have to wait a bit longer as his priorities are currently focused on other ventures.

"The album is coming," he told Billboard. "Right now, it's not the topic of discussion because of all the other things I've been doing."

Though it may not seem that way on the surface, the "OMG" crooner has been a busy man as of late. He is currently developing a back-to-school collection with Target, is serving as a coach and mentor of NBC's The Voice, and is helping others through his own foundation, among a slew of other projects."

"There's Yoobi and the product launch at Target, my philanthropy through New Look, appearing on the Nina Simone tribute album [Nina Revisited, out now], coaching and mentoring up-and-coming talent on The Voice, and before that playing Sugar Ray Leonard [in the 2016 movie Hands of Stone]," he said. "There are so many other things, which is what you have to be in this day and age."

We're sure #TeamUsher would appreciate that their fave is this multifaceted. Though a confirmed release date for his eighth project UR has yet to be announced, fans can expect it to drop sometime later this year.
