Prince Didn't Show Up to Tidal X Concert at Barclays

The Purple One left fans waiting for his arrival.

Jay Z’s Tidal X: 10/20 concert was to show solidarity between the artists that have taken ownership in the music streaming service. When Hov announced that Tidal reached one million subscribers in September, he wanted to celebrate.

The artists set to perform included a wide range, from Alessia Cara and Flatbush Zombies to heavy hitters like T.I., Rick Ross, DJ Khaled and Lil Wayne. Of course, Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé slayed their joint performance of “Feeling Myself.” Hov, the seasoned MC and respected figure in his own borough, performed all of his classic hits.

That’s just leaves one performer who didn’t show up: Prince. The Purple One was originally billed when the show was announced, but he never came on stage to end the night. The Toronto Sun reported that Prince unexpectedly pulled out of last night’s festivities, but neither the singer nor his team has yet to comment on it.

BET.com reached out to representatives of Prince for a statement. We’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
