Is Jay Z Working on New Music?
May was the last time we heard even a verse from Jay Z but his recent deficiency in musical output may be coming to an end.
A few months ago, Swizz Beatz threw up an Instagram post of him playing beats for Jigga, but that didn’t necessarily mean they were hitting the studio. Now things may be different as Jay Electronica, of all people, tweeted about a conversation he had with the other Jay over the phone.
“One of my NEW favorite verses of all time is one Hov said to me over the phone days ago,” the tweet read, followed by the hashtags, ”#HeShouldBeRappingWithATurban #JusticeOrElse.”
It’s unclear what exactly Jay Elec was talking about and Lord knows he has duped us by playing mind tricks in the past. It’s also hard to distinguish whether he meant it was his new favorite previously released verse or his favorite new verse from the Brooklyn god.
With all the build up though –– which includes Jay and Swizz meeting at the Roc Nation offices last week –– and now this...could Jay be getting his next LP together?
