Kanye West On New Album: You Should Be Honored By My Lateness!

Slow and steady wins the race.

Gather around, gather around, for the great Yeezus has spoken.

Many music lovers and Kanye worshipers alike have been itching with anticipation for his forthcoming album, SWISH, and Mr. West is finally ready to give more details.

No, there still isn’t a release date for the new album, but like everything Kanye does, you can’t expect him to rush perfection, right?

Calling into Big Boy’s morning show, Kanye talked about the progress of his new album, which he admits is “going well,” while also discussing his recent 808s and Heatbreak show in LA, which he’s glad can be appreciated now.

On the progress of SWISH, Ye says, ”I don’t want to hype it, it’s slow. I’ve had a lot of time to work on it.” He continued, “I keep working to find the language I'm trying to say on my album- in the lab every night. It's like a sonic painting. It gets better and better every week.”

Kanye performed what is arguably his most emotional album, 808s and Heartbreak, at the Hollywood Bowl to a sold-out show. Although it wasn’t unanimously loved by his hardcore fans at the time, Ye says he’s grateful have to revisited the album and give it its just due.

“It’s definitely a feeling of vindication when people were dissing me and calling me crazy and now it’s basically become the sound of radio. So there’s vindication in that, but then I didn’t just want to leave it at that. I wanted to jump and put a visual opera next to the modern tragedy that that album was,” he says.

And there you have it. You’ll just have to wait until it’s ready for your next Kanye fix.
