Renowned New York DJ Big Kap Passes Away

Social media reacts to his death.

Veteran New York DJ Big Kap passed away Wednesday (February 3) according to some of his closest friends and associates.

“Rest in peace…. Big Kap…” Funkmaster Flex captioned in an Instagram post. Big Kap was most known as a resident DJ alongside Flex at New York’s legendary nightclub The Tunnel. He was also a member of the Flip Squad and Big Dawg Pitbulls DJ crews. In 1999, Funk Flex and Kap released a joint album called The Tunnel.

More recently, DJ Big Kap was the host of Highly Unique Radio, an Internet radio station in Atlanta. Social media paid its condolences earlier as many who knew and/or respected him reflected on his life. No cause of death has been revealed publicly.
