While the Anti-Beyonce rally planned for earlier this week was an absolute bust, surprising no one in the BeyHive, it’s been reported that another boycott is currently in the works.

This time, the organizers are members of Lodge #20 of the Miami Fraternal Order of Police. 

Javier Ortiz, the president of the group, which represents 1,100 officers, issued a statement expressing that he did not watch the singer's performance during the Super Bowl “out of respect for our profession,” and went on to announce that the union voted in favor of all law enforcement boycotting her upcoming concert in Miami this April.

"The Miami Fraternal Order of Police has voted to have all law enforcement officers boycott Beyonce’s concert, which is being held at the Miami Marlins Stadium on Wednesday, April 26, 2016," Ortiz said. "The fact that Beyonce used this year’s Super Bowl to divide Americans by promoting the Black Panthers and her anti-police message shows how she does not support law enforcement."

Ortiz went on to share that he had “mistakenly” watched the video for Bey’s new song, “Formation,” which features the singer’s decision to include a visual of her singing from atop a sinking police car.

Ortiz then had the audacity to share a meme with the Huffington Post that depicts Beyonce, alongside her husband, Jay-Z, being protected by a police detail, calling her out for being a "hypocrite" by being "anti-police." 

Major Delrish Moss, a spokesperson for the Miami Police Department, responded to Ortiz’s statements, saying that the group does not speak for the department as a whole, and that the venue where Beyonce is due to perform will be protected by police during her concert.

"Right now the union president has his First Amendment right to say whatever he wants to say, but that doesn't always translate to reality,” Moss said. “As far as we see, there's no indication that anything that is said there will translate into police officers not working the job.”
