Kendrick Lamar And Lil Wayne Have Some High Praise For Each Other
Kendrick Lamar has given out more press than normal recently. During those interviews a lot of the same topics have come up.
During his most recent one though, something came out of left field. While speaking with The Coveteur, K Dot relayed his admiration for Lil Wayne and called him “the greatest,” not just as a rapper but an iconic figure for the culture.
“Yeah, man, we was heavy,” he explained. “That’s a real story like, we was just huge, still to this day, huge Lil Wayne fans. Lil Wayne is the greatest. Not only because of his music but also because of the culture he put behind it. It was a big part of what he was talking about, so we always hold Lil Wayne in high regards. Juvenile as well. And yeah, it’s the impact of them man. To be a part of it the same way he was a part of it years later is just a great feeling.”
This caught the attention of the YMCMB boss as he replied by complimenting Kendrick and what he’s accomplished so far. “Kendrick Lamar a real one,” he tweeted. “#Respek." Could this exchange of pleasantries lead to a collaboration?
