Howard University Unveils Mobile Black History Museum

Howard University has teamed up with the Bison Express to present the "Know Your History" mobile exhibition.

An 18-wheel trailer has been transformed into a Black history museum that will take visitors on a historical journey through the pages of American Legacy Magazine. The exhibition is filled with photos, stories and interactive learning stations celebrating African-American history. The mobile museum also includes "Always In Our Sight: The Fight for Civil Rights," an exhibit of artifacts and memorabilia from slavery to civil rights.

Date:            Thursday, Aug. 4 and Friday, Aug. 5, 2011

 

Open Hours:  Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

                    Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

Location:       Across from the Howard University Bookstore, located at:

                    2225 Georgia Ave. N.W.

                    Washington, D.C., 20059

 

Admission to the exhibit is free.
