Bill “Bojangles” Robinson dies.

Dance legend Bill "Bojangles" Robinson died in New York City at the age of 71. Robinson’s soft shoe and tap routines catapulted him to star status and landed him starring roles in many Black musical comedies, vaudeville shows and 14 Hollywood films.
