Black teachers to receive equal pay under Maryland court case ruling.

The NAACP wins the landmark case, Gibbs v. Board of Education, against the state of Maryland, ensuring that white and Black teachers are paid equally. The case was one of a succession that would eventually help extend the protection of African-Americans under the U.S. Constitution.
