Chicago Gun Violence: 6 Killed, 16 Injured Memorial Day Weekend

Six people were killed and 10 were injured in Chicago gun violence this past Memorial Day weekend.

Memorial Day weekend ended with six people killed and at least 16 people injured across the city of Chicago. Among the victims was Dashawn Johnson, 17, who died Sunday after being shot Saturday in the Washington Heights neigborhood.
On Sunday night, Arron Feazell, 46, was killed in a shooting at the East Garfield Park neigborhood, according to Chicago Sun-Times. Corteze Reed, 23, was also shot in the chest Saturday and pronounced dead later that night at a nearby medical center.
Data from Red Eye Chicago shows that in 2014, 112 people have died from gunshots. Since last week's report, 14 people have reportedly died from gunshot wounds. This continues to be the leading cause of homicides in Chicago.
