Washington, DC, Teen Shot and Killed at Metro Station

Police are in pursuit of the suspect who shot the teen in broad daylight.

Fifteen-year-old Davonte Washington was shot at the Deanwood Metro Station in Washington, D.C., on Saturday afternoon. After the police were called, Washington was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was soon pronounced dead.

Washington, who was on his way to get a haircut, stood at the station with his mother and sister. An unidentified stranger approached the teen. According to surveillance footage, there was an argument between Davonte and the stranger, which resulted in the stranger pulling out a gun and shooting him in broad daylight.

Metropolitan Police Department District Commander David Taylor commented on the appearance of the argument and said, “It's not believed to be random, that's for sure.”

However, Washington’s family believes that the dispute was started randomly and that there is no way the Largo High School sophomore would have any type of involvement with an active gunman.

The police have not yet made any arrest, nor have they release a description of the shooter; however, they are currently offering a $25,000 reward for anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest.
