[Exclusive] Look: We Talked to the Girl Behind the Viral Shoot Your Shot Uber Driver Story That Has All of Twitter Screaming

Kelli admitted that she was probably acting thirsty AF.

  1. On Saturday night, Howard University student Kelli lit the world on fire with her tweet recount of an Uber love tale
  2. The story began just as any Uber experience usually does...
  3. While Kelli rode in the car with the fine Uber driver, she and her friend sent text messages to each other commenting on his fine-ness
  4. So Kelli decided to take a risk and make a bold move
  5. But things didn't initially go according to plan
  6. "I probably was a little thirsty about the whole ordeal," Kelli told BET News. "But I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone and be more forward, which is why I did this. I'm also slightly anxious so my anxiety was through the roof throughout the ordeal. The whole leaving the charger thing was such a spur of the moment thing, I didn't really give myself much time to think about it until after the fact."

  7. And just as she started to throw in the towel, there appeared to be a light at the end of the tunnel
  8. Then comes the moment of truth
  9. Except, it was everything but over...
  10. "Me and my friend were binge-watching Insecure and talking about how great and relatable the show was," Kelli told BET about the moment before the marriage line. "And then, next thing you know, this guy I asked out turns out to be married and I couldn't help but think how easily it could've fit in to the show. I'm very over dramatic, so when I first got the text, I, like, screamed and dramatically slid off my super-lofted bed to the floor while my friend is looking on trying to figure out what happened."

  11. "This is why I don't shoot shots," Kelli said was her first thought after seeing the marriage bomb – and there's no doubt that Kelli was all of us when she read that message from him
  12. However, if there is a silver lining to this whole ordeal, it's that Kelli was able to bring a smile to many faces with her dramatically narrated, Uber-romantic heartbreak tale

"It's crazy to think that I'm actually making people's days with a simple thread," Kelli said.

It should also be noted that Uber happened to recently release new guidelines for passengers.

“(D)on’t touch or flirt with other people in the car,” the guidelines, published Thursday, stated.

Looks like Uber isn't for lovers after all.
