Kenneka Jenkins' Mother And Family Lawyer Hold Press Conference Questioning Freezer Surveillance Video

"We're committed to finding out what happened."

It seems like new developments have been plentiful in the Kenneka Jenkins case. Video footage was released from the night, but it seems that it’s raised more questions than answers.

Those answers are desperately being sought after by Jenkins’ mother, Teresa Martin, and her legal team, who still are skeptical of the story that the young girl simply walked into a Chicago hotel freezer and died.

At a press conference on Friday (September 15), Martin and her lawyers claim the case surrounding her daughter’s death is anything but closed and demanded a more thorough investigation into the suspicious circumstances surrounding the final minutes of her life.

"Serious questions remain as to how she ended up in a Crowne Plaza Hotel freezer and why it took a day and a half for the hotel to find Kenneka," Larry Rogers, Jr., one of the lawyers said. "We're committed to finding out what happened."

Jenkins’ body was discovered in a basement walk-in freezer early Sunday morning at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois. The discovery of her body was made a full 24 hours after the 19-year-old was last seen at a party on the 9th floor of the hotel.

47 cameras captured 36 hours of surveillance video footage, but none showed Kenneka actually walking into the freezer, which leads to speculation over whether she voluntarily entered it and closed the door.

In a selfie video taken by Teresa Martin yesterday, she reiterated her commitment to finding out what happened to her daughter. “No justice, no peace,” she noted.
