President Barack Obama on Thursday announced the nomination of Debra L. Lee, chairman and CEO of BET Networks, a unit of Viacom, to serve on the President’s Management Advisory Board. The board was established in April 2010 as a vehicle through which the nation’s top CEOs can share their ideas and practical experience about how the federal government can operate more efficiently and effectively. Board members will advise the president and the President’s Management Council, which includes deputy secretaries from major executive departments and agencies.

“I am grateful that these impressive individuals have chosen to dedicate their talents to serving the American people at this important time for our country,” Obama said. “I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead to deliver a government that’s more affordable, effective and efficient.”
