Public Enemy #1: The Hunt for Osama Bin Laden

After the Sept. 11 attacks, America had a new public enemy #1 and his name was Osama bin Laden. "The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number-one priority and we will not rest until we find him,” former President George W. Bush famously declared. Bin Laden was found to be the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks and the American public directed all of its fears, anxieties and anger toward the Al Qaeda leader. Although the hunt for bin Laden began just after the attacks in 2001, he was not captured until May 2011, when he was found in Pakistan and killed by U.S. forces.
