Chicago to Place More Cops on Streets

HBCUs rally for funds, lynching artwork and KKK presentation cause controversy, and other news headlines. —Dorkys Ramos

In response to 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton's death, Chicago is planning to place 200 police desk officers out on the streets to help combat the city's high gun violence rate. Separately, the police department said a reward leading to the arrest of Hadiya’s killers in now $40,000.
