Meeting the Dalai Lama - President Obama has a very busy Thursday ahead. Early in the day, he will meet with the Dalai Lama in D.C. China has discouraged the meeting, saying that it could put a strain on U.S.-China relations. They also charge that the Tibetan spiritual leader has campaigned to free Tibet from China’s rule, a claim which he denies.

Trip to Philly - On Friday, First Lady Michelle Obama will travel to Philadelphia to promote her recently launched initiative against childhood obesity. While on the short trip, Mrs. Obama, who’ll be joined by Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack, will make a few local stops to highlight the city’s efforts to get healthy and introduce affordable food into the community, reports The Philadelphia City Paper.

National Governors Association - Mrs. Obama will address the National Governors Association on Saturday. In her remarks, she’ll discuss the role state government has in advancing the Let’s Move initiative.

Valentine’s Day - For Valentine’s Day this year, the First Couple opted out of a trip back to their native Chicago and instead, spent some time at Camp David. First Lady Michelle and daughters Sasha and Malia arrived there Friday evening, while the president flew in by helicopter to join them on Sunday.
