Tuesday - On Tuesday, the president toured a job-training center in Lanham, Md., located just outside of D.C. During his stop, the president announced more than $8 billion in federal funds to go toward constructing the nation’s first nuclear plant in almost three decades, the Associated Press reports. "Our competitors are racing to create jobs and command growing energy industries. And nuclear energy is no exception," he said.

Wednesday - Today, the president will meet with Spain’s King Juan Carlos I at the White House.

Meeting the Dalai Lama - President Obama has a very busy Thursday ahead. Early in the day, he will meet with the Dalai Lama in D.C. China has discouraged the meeting, saying that it could put a strain on U.S.-China relations. They also charge that the Tibetan spiritual leader has campaigned to free Tibet from China’s rule, a claim which he denies.

Fundraising Out West - After meeting with the Dalai Lama, President Obama will fly out to Denver later on Thursday to speak at fundraising events for Sen. Michael Bennet. After those events, the president is scheduled to head out to Las Vegas for a fundraiser for the Democratic Party. He’ll stay in Nevada for Friday’s events and fundraisers in support of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid before returning to D.C.

In First Lady News - Mrs. Obama will welcome students from London to the White House on Thursday. The students earned a trip to the United States by winning a Black History Month essay contest sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in London.
