Robinson Runs Over Huskies - Michigan sophomore quarterback Denard Robinson rushed for 197 yards and was 19-for-22 with 186 yards passing as the Wolverines defeated Connecticut 30-10. The 197 rushing yards was the most ever by a Michigan quarterback.

ECU's Prayers Answered - East Carolina quarterback Dominique Davis heaved a 33-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass with time expired to give the Pirates a 51-49 win over Tulsa. The win gave Ruffin McNeill his first victory at his alma mater. Davis was 27 of 46 for 383 yards with five touchdown passes in the game.

Houshmandzadeh Signs With Ravens - After one season in Seattle, wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh was released and the Baltimore Ravens signed the former Pro Bowl selection to a one-year deal. The addition of Houshmandzadeh gives quarterback Joe Flacco another weapon to go along with Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason.

Haynesworth To Start On The Bench? - Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan continues to make an example out of Albert Haynesworth. Leinart Cut, Signed By Houston - The Matt Leinart era in Arizona is officially over. The former USC Heisman winner was released by the Cardinals after a subpar preseason and signed by the Houston Texans to back up Matt Schaub. Derek Anderson was named the starting quarterback for Arizona, replacing Kurt Warner.

LSU Holds On Against UNC - Louisiana State University held on in the final seconds to defeat the University of North Carolina 30-24 Saturday night at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The Tar Heels were without six starters on defense yet nearly managed to escape with the victory as quarterback T.J. Yates fired a pass with time running out that was incomplete.

Revis Ends Holdout With Jets - “Revis Christ” has resurrected with the New York Jets. After a lengthy hold out, Darrelle Revis signed a new four-year, $46 million deal with the Jets, just in time for their Week 1 season opener against the Baltimore Ravens. With arguably the best defender in the NFL back in the Jets starting lineup, New York looks to be a Super Bowl contender.

Dixon To Start As Big Ben Returns Week 5 - Dennis Dixon was named the starting quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers by head coach Mike Tomlin. Byron Leftwich is out indefinitely with a sprained left knee ligament and Ben Roethlisberger is suspended for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. NFL commish Roger Goodell reduced his suspension from six games to four on Friday.

Woods Holds On To No. 1 Ranking - Tiger Woods held on to his No. 1 ranking in the world after finishing tied for 11th in the Deutsche Bank Championship. Phil Mickelson needed to finish fourth or higher to become No. 1 for the first time in his career, but finished tied for 25th.

Monfils Advances To Quarterfinals - Gaël Monfils advanced to the U.S. Open quarterfinals by defeating fellow Frenchman Richard Gasque 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 on Monday. A fan favorite at the U.S. Open, Monfils will take on No. 3 Novak Djokovic in the next round.
