Bynum Out Until November - Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum said he expects to return to the court in late November. Bynum made the announcement at media day on Saturday as the defending champions opened up training camp. Bynum averaged 15.3 points and 8.3 rebounds in 65 regular season games last year.

Chapman Hits 105 MPH - Cincinnati Reds reliever Aroldis Chapman clocked in at 105 mph on the speed gun, dazzling the crowd in San Diego on Friday night. All 25 of Chapman’s pitches were at least 100 mph. The previous high for the rookie before Friday was 103 mph.

Charlie Batch Dazzles In Win - Charlie Batch, the fourth-string Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, threw for three touchdowns as the Steelers defeated Tampa Bay 38-13. The 35-year-old started in place of the injured Dennis Dixon and Byron Leftwich. The Steelers will be without starter Ben Roethlisberger for one more game before returning from suspension.

Don Nelson Out As Coach - Head coach Don Nelson stepped down from his position at the Golden State Warriors, just a month before the start of the NBA season. Former assistant coach Keith Smart will replace Nelson, who has likely coached his last game in the NBA.

Falcons Upset Saints - Matt Bryant’s overtime field goal gave the Atlanta Falcons a victory over the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints. The Saints had a chance to win it in overtime but kicker Garrett Hartley missed a 29-yard field goal.

UCLA Takes Down Texas - The UCLA Bruins went on the road and stunned the University of Texas 34-12 on Saturday in Austin. The Bruins ran for 264 yards on the ground, ending a 16-game home winning streak for the Longhorns. With the loss, Texas dropped from #7 to #21 in the AP poll.

Vick's 4 Touchdowns Leads Eagles - In his first game since he was named the starting quarterback, Michael Vick had four touchdowns (3 passing, 1 rushing) to lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a 28-3 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Vick was 17-of-31 for 291 yards. Next weekend, the Eagles will face former starter Donovan McNabb and the Washington Redskins.

Jets Pull One Out On Road - Less than a week after his DUI arrest, Braylon Edwards scored a touchdown as the New York Jets pulled out a win on the road against the Miami Dolphins, 31-23. Edwards sat out the first quarter because of his arrest last Tuesday morning. The Jets improve to 2-1 and travel to Buffalo this weekend.
