Aaron Rodgers Hurt - Aaron Rogers might have to sit out this Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins because of a concussion. Rodgers suffered the injury during overtime in their overtime loss to the Washington Redskins. He hasn’t missed a game since he was named starting quarterback in 2008.

Boise State - If the BCS rankings came out on Monday, Boise State would be the top ranked team in the standings according to ESPN’s Brad Edwards. Despite Ohio State’s top ranking in the AP and USA Today poll, they are projected fifth in the BCS standings.

Brett Favre - Prior to Monday night’s game against the New York Jets, quarterback Brett Favre apologized to his teammates for being a distraction. Last week, a report on Deadspin.com detailed phone calls and nude pictures that Favre allegedly sent to a former Jets employee. The NFL is investigating the situation.

Julio Jones Breaks Arm - Alabama star wide receiver Julio Jones fractured his hand in Saturday’s 35-21 loss to South Carolina. Head coach Nick Saban said Jones would be out an undetermined amount of time. He leads the team with 32 catches for 440 yards and three touchdowns.

Kobe's Knee - Los Angeles Lakers head coach Phil Jackson is limiting Kobe Bryant during the preseason as he recovers from offseason knee injury. With Andrew Bynum already out until December, there’s a chance that Bryant won’t be ready for the season opener against the Houston Rockets in two weeks. Bryant is expected to play 16-18 minutes on Wednesday against Sacramento.

Williams Out The Rest Of The Year - Serena Williams reinjured her foot and won’t play for the rest of the 2010 season. Williams cut her right foot on a piece of glass in July, forcing her to miss the U.S. Open and hasn’t played since Wimbledon.

Three UNC players kicked off team - North Carolina defensive tackle Marvin Austin was kicked off the football team on Monday as part of an ongoing investigation by the NCAA into whether players received improper benefits from agents. Greg Little and Robert Quinn have been declared permanently ineligible.

Bobby Cox Manages Last Game - The San Francisco Giants eliminated the Atlanta Braves from the 2010 MLB playoffs, ending the managerial career of the legendary Bobby Cox. Cox had announced that he would retire at the conclusion of the 2010 season after managing for 29 seasons.

Tony Gwynn Has Cancer - Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn announced on Saturday that he has cancer in a salivary gland. The former San Diego Padres outfielder said the cancer was discovered last month and faces up to eight weeks of treatment. Gwynn feels the cancer is associated with his career-long practice of using chewing tobacco.

Artest To Quit Drinking And Drugs - Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Artest said he plans to abstain from alcohol during the 2010-11 season. Artest, who said he started drinking when he was 15, also said he wouldn’t use marijuana. "Even if they legalize marijuana, I won't be smoking marijuana,” Artest told a group of reporters. No comment.
