First Lady Michelle Obama isn't impressed by Republican House Speaker John Boehner, her husband's number one nemesis in all debates fiscal. In a viral video gone 'round the world, the first lady was caught on tape rolling her eyes at the GOP leader during the Inauguration Day luncheon in the Capitol.
There's much speculation about what sparked the shade, but conventional wisdom is that it's something the speaker said as he and President Obama exchanged banter behind the first lady, who was seated between them. Responding to the president, Boehner tapped her back as if seeking agreement with what he said.
The eyes said it all.
But according to the president, the two agreed on at least one thing.
"Michelle and the speaker of the House came to a meeting of the minds that I may be delaying the proceedings too much," Obama told the luncheon guests. "And so I'm just going to be extraordinarily brief and say thank you."
