Jesse Jackson Jr. May Be Headed to Prison

Former congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. has reportedly made a deal with federal authorities that will put him behind prison bars.

According to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times, the deal includes "significant jail time."

Jackson resigned from Congress soon after winning re-election last November in part because of an investigation into allegations that he'd misused campaign funds.

Jackson cited the investigation, as well as his treatment for bipolar disorder, in his resignation letter. But according to the Sun-Times, the finances of his wife Sandi Jackson, who resigned her position as a Chicago alderman earlier this year, also have been under investigation.

A second source told the publication that she was "stunned" by the allegations against her husband and felt like he'd "thrown her under the bus."
