Top High School Recruit Gets Pulled From Game By His Mom \r \r

Tired of her son, Devonta, making mistakes on the floor, Jessie Pollard took it upon herself to bench him.

Should highly touted basketball recruit Devonta Pollard be fortunate enough to play in the NBA one day he still may never live down the day his mother came out of the stands and benched him.

Pollard is one of the top high school recruits in the country but Jessie Pollard apparently isn't impressed as she scolded her son and demanded he head to the bench after making a couple of mistakes in a recent AAU game. It also didn’t matter that dozens of major college coaches and their assistants were all sitting around the court and saw the whole odd scenario unfold.

Pollard, who is from Porterville Kemper County, Mississippi, is one of the top ranked recruits in the country for the class of 2012, according to Rivals.com.

"He had made two mistakes," Pollard said to someone who was sitting courtside. "It's hard to play a whole ballgame, so I had to take him out to calm him down."

According to the story, when Pollard re-entered he played better. But his mom must realize she sent the wrong signal as school’s like Kentucky, Georgetown and Duke watched on. Coaches tend to dislike outof-control parents, who don’t know their place in the stands.
