Tiger Woods Hot Dog Tosser Inspired by Movie

Man who threw hot dog at Tiger Woods during last weekend’s Frys.com Open said he wanted to do something "courageous and epic."

It seems a California man received an odd inspiration from a movie, which then influenced him to toss a hot dog in the direction of Tiger Woods during last weekend’s Frys.com Open.

Brandon Kelly told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat this week that he came away from the movie Drive wanting to do something “courageous and epic.” And that happened to be throwing a hot dog at Woods while he was competing on the greens.

"As soon as the movie ended, I thought to myself, 'I have to do something courageous and epic,'" Kelly said. "I have to throw a hot dog on the green in front of Tiger.'"

Kelly, of course, was arrested for disturbing the peace Sunday after he yelled Woods’s name and tossed the wiener with bun in his direction during the tournament. Woods was attempting to make putt for birdie when the hot dog came flying. He ended up missing the 18-foot putt.

"Some guy just came running on the green, and he had a hot dog, and evidently ... I don't know how he tried to throw it, but I was kind of focusing on my putt when he started yelling," Woods said after the tournament. "Next thing I know, he laid on the ground, and looked like he wanted to be arrested because he ... put his hands behind his back and turned his head."

It appears Kelly will only receive a fine and community service for the disturbance he caused.
