Russell Wilson Auctioning Game-Worn Cleats to Fight Childhood Cancer
When Russell Wilson isn't in the pocket as the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, there's a good chance the NFL star is in children's hospitals, uplifting the spirits of kids.
To continue his ongoing effort, Wilson took to his Twitter account Tuesday to announce that he's auctioning a pair of game-worn cleats from the Seahawks' Week 7 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 22. All proceeds will go to benefit the QB's Why Not You Foundation to fight childhood cancer.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the signed cleats had already fetched an eBay bid of $1,255 — an amount that will only rise, considering there's still six days and five hours left to bid.
The fact that this auction will make one fan extremely happy — but, more important, contribute to the ongoing battle against childhood cancer — makes this gesture another touchdown for Russ.
