Some fans hate that Kevin Durant left Oklahoma City to sign with Golden State less than two months after he failed to lead the Thunder to a Western Conference Finals' win over the Warriors, blowing a 3-1 lead.
Others loved it, already looking forward to watching the NBA superstar team with back-to-back MVP Stephen Curry and fellow All-Stars Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
But KD's announcement Monday led to racism rearing its ugly head, too.
As New York Daily News columnist Shaun King wrote about, Westin Wood, a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, used the announcement as an opportunity to simulate a lynching of Durant in an absolutely disgusting video.
In this revolting clip, you can clearly see Wood douse a Durant No. 35 Thunder jersey with gasoline, before he and his friends — all white — fire away at it with their assault rifles, causing it to burst into flames.
Pure evil. Absolutely heinous.
This world is a scary place.
