Sad News: Former NFL Star Antonio Armstrong and Wife Shot to Death by 16-Year-Old Son

Details behind the unsettling note found next to a smoking gun.

Tragedy recently struck the Armstrong family as former NFL linebacker Antonio Armstrong and his wife, Dawn, were both tragically shot inside their Houston home. What was even more disturbing was what was found at the scene of the crime.

According to the Daily Mail, the police were called to the residence in Bellaire, Texas, at around 2:15 on Friday morning. When they arrived, Dawn was found dead at the scene while Antonio later died at the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

One of the couple's three children, their 16-year-old son, was charged with the crime.

While the Houston police are yet to determine a motive for the murder, KTRK reports investigators did find a note next to a smoking gun, which read, "I've been watching you."

"They're the family that everyone wanted to be like... her and Antonio together, they are what they call a power couple," Dawn's cousin, Vaun Lee Armstrong said. "There was nothing left out. There was no neglect or anything. There was nothing that even could possibly have justified this situation."

Antonio Armstrong played four games for the Miami Dolphins in 1995, while spending three seasons in the CFL with the British Columbia Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. After retiring from the League, he ventured into motivational speaking and opened a fitness company called 1st Class Training with his wife, Dawn.
