The Lakers Will Reportedly Retire Kobe Bryant's Jersey This December

Will it be the Black Mamba's No. 8, 24, or both?

Kobe Bryant accomplished everything an NBA player could ever want to over the course of his legendary 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers — most notably helping the storied franchise win five championships.

Now the Lakers want to thank the future Hall of Famer for all his contributions.

TMZ Sports is reporting that the Lakers will retire his jersey before their home game against the Golden State Warriors on December 18. Although the team hasn't formally acknowledged it, it did send a letter to season ticket holders, urging them to "hold on to your tickets for the game on December 18" for a "special event," making many believe that the day will be reserved for Bryant, according to TMZ.

The question now is will the Lakers be putting Kobe's No. 8 or his No. 24 into the rafters of Staples Center? The Black Mamba rocked both numbers over the course of his brilliant NBA career in purple and gold.

As special as Bryant's career was, the Lakers might retire both. How special of a moment would that be?
