Funnyman Cedric The Entertainer will stop by 106 & Park tonight, Monday, October 3, to discuss his role as the host of this year’s Soul Train Music Awards. The Original King of Comedy will take over the hosting reigns held down by Academy Award-nominated actors Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard for the past two years.
In its third year on BET, the Soul Train Music Awards has fast become one of the premiere awards shows, honoring some of the best in R&B, soul, jazz, and hip hop. Also serving as a 40th anniversary celebration of the Soul Train brand, this year’s show will honor Gladys Knight, the “Empress of Soul,” and pioneering funk/soul band Earth, Wind & Fire with the Legend Award.
Cedric worked his way from local comedy clubs to national television appearances on Showtime at the Apollo and Def Comedy Jam and hosting Comicview on BET. Soon, after landing a role on The Steve Harvey Show, Cedric appeared on the silver screen in such movies as Barbershop, Cadillac Records, and Talk To Me.
Tune into 106 & Park tonight, Monday, October 3 at 6P/5C when Cedric The Entertainer stops by.
