Adele

Singer

Bluesy British vocalist Adele comes out of the blue-eyed soul singer tradition. Her 2008 debut 19 was a success on both the U.K. and U.S. charts and went on to sell over a million copies in America and 3 million worldwide. The songstress won two Grammy Awards for that album, boosted by the popular hit single “Chasing Pavements.” Her 2011 follow-up album, 21, debuted at number one in Britain, America and 10 other countries. Adele broke a previous record set by Madonna when 21 reigned atop the U.K. charts for more than nine consecutive weeks.
