Charlie Wilson

Singer
For decades, Charlie Wilson excelled in his role as the lead vocalist of the influential and immensely popular funk group the Gap Band, who are responsible for classic anthems like “Outstanding,” “You Dropped a Bomb on Me,” and “Oops Upside Your Head.” Now over 40 years deep in the industry, Wilson has embarked on an equally successful solo career that has spawned several number-one hits, numerous Grammy nominations and accolades from various publications. With his distinctly soulful cords, Uncle Charlie remains a go-to vocalist for hip hop heavyweights and R&B stars, including Snoop Dogg, R. Kelly, Kanye West and Justin Timberlake. The multiple Lifetime Achievement and Icon Award recipient is also the national spokesman for the Prostate Cancer Foundation, after being diagnosed (and later beating the cancer) in 2008.
