Cocoa Brovaz

Recording Artists

Cocoa Brovaz (aka Smiff-N-Wessun) fired onto the rap scene as guests on Black Moon’s popular 1993 album Enta Da Stage. Comprised of group members Tekomin “Tek” Williams and Darrrell “Steele” Yates, Cocoa Brovaz were a part of the popular Brooklyn rap collective Boot Camp Click. Originally recording as Smif-N-Wessun, their debut album Dah Shinin’ debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The Smith & Wesson firearm company later sued the group for the use of the name and they rebranded themselves Cocoa Brovaz.
